Make-Up Brushes | Beauty on a Budget March 2014

                                                                  Set of Kabuki Brushes

I bought these brushes from Ebay towards the end of last year, and they have served me well!
They were £9.98 with free shipping for all eight brushes! You get four larger brushes and four smaller  sizes.

These are the four larger sizes, a flat top Stippling type kabuki, a slightly more tapered kabuki, an angled top kabuki and lastly the contour shaped kabuki.  These brushes are really thick and are great for moving around creme product. I don't use powder products with these brushes as they pick up to much product even when you tap off the excess.

The same applies for the eye brushes! The smaller contour shaped kabuki I like to use for straight up eyeshadow application! its great for packing on the product! The stippling brush I use for Creme eyeshadow bases, lastly the angled and tapered eye kabukis are used for blending! They look quite big but they're great for winging out a smokey eye!

Apologies for the manky brushes!
But I highly Recommend these if you like me, a make-up brush addict or even better just starting out and wanting something to try?

NOTD | Nails of The Day!

Barry M nail paint on the ring finger as an accent!
This shade is called Pink Sapphire Glitter

This shade is by American Apparel its name is office.... which I think is completely irrelevant

I'm really loving Pastels right now and I've been painting my nails this colour since I came back from London (read my London post here)
I felt like I needed to jazz it up a little!

Style Sunday | The Pink Coat

My faithful pink coat is from Matalan, I know for some, Matalan is the last place you would go, but its good quality, quite cheap and, if you ask me quite stylish too!
I'm not the type of person to waist Topshop kind of money on a very controversial coat that could be 'in' one minute and 'out' the next! So for £40 I feel like I can get my moneys worth. Its in the middle of thick and thin so its suitable for what was the end of winter and of course the British spring. If you ask me, there is not much difference...
The material has a very strange, rough, flecky type fee, it almost looks as if it has loads of snags all over it, but it still looks legit! The tags says that the 'shell' what I can only assume is the outside of the coat is 66% polyester 22% wool 10% acrylic & 2% polyamide (whatever that is) Borrrrring.
Anyway, I love this coat so I thought I would just show you the pros to this coat before you splurge on the Topshop version.

Cropped Daisy top: Primark
Leather High waisted pants: Newlook
Heeled ankle boots: Matalan

I've Been to London! | Photo Overload!

View from our hotel The President in Russel Square!
Lovley on the inside but my stomach dropped when I walked up to the entrance, the outside is a washed out crimson colour, with single glazed windows on the lower floors, luckily we got one of the   prestige rooms, with double glazing. we don't ask for much!
But whatever, its a hotel, we probably spent about 12 hours there including sleep, and thats over 3 days!

 Five Guys Burgers & Fries!
Five guys exceeded my expectations! Not only was it the most legit burger joint I have ever seen its delicious! Pretty pricey when It stands next to McDonald's and Burger king etc. £8 for a burger, no fries or drinks... Just a burger! However in central London I suppose its justifiable. I got a cheeseburger with extra lettuce, little cajun fries (yes, portions are measured in little, regular and big)
and a refillable drink. The portions were so big! the 'little fries' couldn't be more wrong! He filled a McDonalds like container with chips placed that in the bag neatly then proceeded to fill up another cup of fries and toss them in on top......
The Drinks machine was amazing! Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, loads of other kinds of fizzy drinks, but they also had flavours, each of these drinks had the options for shots of Raspberry, Cherry, Vanilla, Lime, Lemon, Grape etc. I sat for an hour trying a cup full of each, then proceeded to slug around Trafalgar square with a full tummy!
For photos and a more detailed post on this place go to one of my favourite bloggers

 Trafalgar Square!
Lovely weather, couldn't have been better, when you live up north 16 Degrees is Tropical!

Camden Market/Lock had to be my favourite place in london! Loved all of the cute little nick nacks on the stalls, the food was amazing too!
We also lived on the fresh homemade lemonade from the best little stall!

  This was piccadilly circus!

Looking down on the Mall...
Liberty's was just breath taking! Especially the fabric floor! Expensive but justifiable, to walk away with a shiny cardboard bag!

we went to go and see Mama Mia & The Lion king! They were both absolutely fab!!

For a Londoner I bet I sound like a proper tourist. I just don't go to London a lot okay!
I like the simple things!

February 2014 | Favourites

Got my monthly favourites for you today!

In February I didn't feel as if I had many items to talk, turns out I was wrong! I have been using some good old faithful bits as well and some new bits as this month was my budget month!
I say budget month because I was out a lot so had to budget on the beauty bits. Seeing old friends, visiting some new nightclubs all that jazz (I make my life sound so exciting -.-)
bearing in mind this happens once in a blue moon

Raspberry & Pomegranate 'body, linen&roomspiritz' - The smell is amazing but if you have been here a while you will know my love hate relationship with The Body Shop.
Yes! The smell is so refreshing and strong..... for about five minutes.
But I love this smell so much I can't hate it.
If you get the chance go in and smell this product. It is great for everything, clothes, sleeping mist, body spray, perfume!
If you can be bothered to carry this around all day and top it up 24/7 then buy it!
Anybody know if this comes in perfume form in The Body Shop?

I bought this product and regardless of what my friends say this foundation isn't for old people. Youth liberator means it brings out the youthful qualities of your skin. If your young it compliments them.
Think about it! Its so silky, quite watery, thin coverage but feels like its helping your skin.
I do have me problems with this product like I do with most here with my (old) current foundations review. I talk about it more there including the price.

Excuse the photography in this image, the lighting was not on my side neither was the camera, not to worry. This is the Superdrug's own Vitamin E Eye cream. I was debating buying an expensive eye   cream as my under eyes were dark and dry but after reading reviews of this product I decided to give it a shot for £2.59 (i think) Its so nourishing and feels like its working, I've used this product for about a month and its made a drastic difference. I also acts as a primer for the under eye as concealer settles better and doesn't dry out.

These individual eye lashes are lovely and give such a natural affect. they come in 3 different lengths
10,12 & 14 millimetres I only used 2 of each on the outer corner of my eye. These were from Bodycare for £3.49 it comes with glue but I wouldn't recommend cheap eye lash glue.
I like the full falsies for bigger nights out on the town for a more exaggerated look.
(shown on the top photo)

Lastly is this all over cover stick from ELF this was in my recent post of beauty on a budget.
The shade is a lovely highlight for only £1.50 read more about it here

Those were my monthly favourites, only a couple but better than nothing.
What were your monthly favourites or even your monthly foes?

Next months post will have Faves & Foes
I don't have hate for that many products this month
Give me time!

Alice xoxo
